2. Read the How to Tag page.
3. Read the Items Accepted page.
4. Print your tags.
5. Prepare and tag your items.
6. Bring them to Drop-off.
7. Shop early as a consignor.
8. Pick up your check and any unsold items at Pickup.
Do I need to register for every sale?
Yes. Registration opens separately for each seasonal sale.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of items?
There is a minimum of $50 worth of items to consign. There is no maximum limit.
Do I have to work Crew to consign?
No. Anyone may consign. However, Crew members receive earlier shopping privileges and additional benefits.
What happens to my unsold items?
You may pick them up during our scheduled Pickup time. Items not picked up are donated according to your tag choices and sale policies.
Most common problems
Why was my item rejected?
The most common reasons are: Stains, holes, excessive wear, pilling, pet hair, odors, missing pieces, dead batteries, wrong season, or the item does not meet current safety standards.
I never received my confirmation email.
Check your spam folder first. If you accidentally registered incorrectly, register again using the correct registration option.
My tags will not print correctly.
Verify that prices have been entered in the tagging system. If needed, select "Print as Image" in your Adobe Acrobat settings.
Why was I not found on your online list?
If you've never consigned or been part of the Crew, use New Registration. If you were on our list before and moved, or if we emailed you for an address update and didn't hear back, you may need to register again. Being off our email list also removes you from our online list.
Consignors
Registration & fees
Why do you charge consignors $15?
Our expenses are astronomical and have increased dramatically, particularly our rent, bank/card costs, and storage/moving fees. We couldn't continue the sale without this fee, which is lower than other large sales.
I registered tonight however I did not receive my code with my confirmation email. What should I do?
You likely joined our mailing list without checking the "Consignor" option. Please re-register and check "Consignor" to get your code.
I registered but cannot consign. How do I unregister?
Register again and enter "unregister" next to the consignor checkbox to free up your spot.
Tag printing & system
Are tags saved in the system? Can they be used for all sales?
Yes! Your tags are saved in your account. You can use them for future sales. You do not need to cancel them or delete them if an item doesn't sell—just bring it back next time!
Do you offer Consignment Manager for your sale?
No, we only accept tags printed directly from our Kids EveryWEAR website.
What is the purpose of the individual colors of cardstock?
The colors speed up sorting unsold items. Rather than staring at codes, we sort quickly by color and put white tags into donation boxes. This frees the Crew to make the sale more organized, ensure quality, and double-check racks.
How and why should I do 3-word descriptions?
Always write a specific 3-word description (e.g., "Gymboree pink floral dress"). If your tag falls off, we search our system for those exact keywords to match the tag back to your item so you get paid!
What category should I use on tags?
Pick the category that best fits. For items like Pets, Cleaning Supplies, Tools, Furniture, and Garden items, please select the "Housewares" category.
What needs a duplicate tag?
Only use a duplicate tag on large items with multiple pieces that could easily get separated on the sales floor (like a travel system, or a crib and mattress). Do NOT put duplicate tags on standard two-piece clothing outfits.
Hanging clothing
Where should I use a tagging gun?
Only put the needle through a garment's inside tag, or through a seam at the armpit or waistband. Never shoot it through the flat front fabric, as it creates a permanent hole!
How do I hang multiple onesies? Can I zip-tie them together?
Do not zip-tie them together! Hang them on a single hanger, pinning the outside shoulders of each onesie to the top slope of the hanger so they fan out and shoppers can easily see every piece.
How do I hang multiple pieces (like an outfit)?
Hang the shirt on the hanger normally. Then, pin the pants to the top angled part of the hanger (catching the shirt fabric and the hanger) so they don't slide around.
How do I hang pants if I don't have a pants hanger?
Pin them to the top angled slopes of a regular wire or plastic hanger. Do not fold them over the bottom straight bar, as they will slide off and end up on the floor!
Where can I find hangers and what kind can I use?
Old Navy, Belk, Target, and Walmart discard them. Ask! Plastic or wire are fine (we prefer plastic). Use child-sized for size 4 and under; adult for size 5 and up.
Can I get back my hangers?
No. We don't have time at checkout to remove hangers, so the shopper keeps them.
Tagging toys, books & accessories
How do I tag items with lots of pieces (jumperoos, play mats, etc)?
Put all small pieces in a Ziploc bag, seal it with packing tape, and zip-tie the bag securely to the main item. Attach your tag securely to the main item.
How should I tape Ziploc bags?
Put a piece of packing tape across the top opening to seal it completely shut so little hands can't open it and lose the pieces!
How do I tag accessories (hats, bibs, socks, etc)?
Group them in Ziploc bags, tape the top shut, and tape the tag to the outside of the bag. Pinning small things together often leads to lost items.
How do I tag shoes that don’t have a place for zip ties or are new in the box?
Put them in a Ziploc bag, tape the bag shut, and tape the tag to the outside of the bag. If they are in a box, tape the box shut and tape the tag securely to the box.
How do I tag books? What do I write and how do I attach the tag?
Use painters tape or masking tape to attach tags to books so it doesn't tear the cover (never use packing tape on books!). Always write the exact title of the book in your 3-word description.
How do I tag wooden toddler puzzles?
Wrap them completely in plastic wrap (Saran wrap) and tape it securely so the pieces can't fall out, then tape the tag to the outside.
When attaching tags to toys or Ziploc bags, can I cover the QR code with packing tape?
NO. Do not cover the QR code with packing tape! It creates a glare and prevents our scanners from reading your tag.
Items accepted
Does a baby swing that can either plug in or run on batteries need to have batteries in it?
Absolutely, yes! All items must have working batteries so shoppers can test them immediately.
Can I sell a crib mattress?
Yes, separately. Or include it with your crib and mark the tag "free with purchase of this crib" and attach a duplicate tag to the mattress.
Do you allow lightweight, long-sleeve shirts at your spring/summer sale?
We prefer you bring these to our Fall/Winter sale unless they are clearly a spring item (e.g., windbreakers, white cardigans, raincoats).
Do you allow lightweight, long-sleeved infant-footed pj's at your spring/summer sale?
Yes, if they are new-looking with no stains or wear.
Do you allow cloth diapers?
Yes, if in excellent condition.
Do you accept jeans and khaki pants in the Spring/Summer sale?
We suggest selling these at the Fall/Winter sale for a higher price. If selling in Spring/Summer, price them $1-$2 lower.
Do you take bed rails?
Yes, we happily accept bed rails.
Are Ladies/Jr's items season-specific?
We do not accept Ladies, Juniors, or Adult clothing at the Kids EveryWEAR sale event. Please check our Items Accepted chart.
Do coats and costumes hang in a special location?
Yes, scary costumes are allowed at Fall KE only. Dress-up clothes are allowed at both Fall and Spring KE events.
Drop-off & pickup
If I am restricted to "Late Drop Off," can I attend the Consignor shopping time?
Yes! Bring your late registration confirmation as your pass.
I cannot make it to Pickup. What are my options?
Unsold items not picked up are donated. Please have a friend or family member pick up for you; they just need your name, code, confirmation email, and the photo you took at Drop-off.
What organization do unsold donated items go to? Is this tax-deductible?
Most organizations are listed on our Donate Unsold Items page. You can print a tax donation receipt directly from our site.
Shoppers
Shopping times & tickets
I am going out of town this weekend and cannot attend my consignor shopping time. Is it okay if I go on a later day?
Yes, you are welcome to shop any full-price day we are open after your designated time, and any discount day after your designated time.
I am a first-time grandmother. Can I get a first-time parent ticket?
Yes, get a Ticket if your grandchild is on the way or under the age of 1.
Why do you separate shop times for first-time parents from expecting parents?
Two words: "Crowd Control!"
I have lost my early shop pass. What should I do?
Register and print it again, or simply show your ID at the door.
Guests & rules
Can Crew and consignors bring friends with them to shop?
No, friends have a special shopping time with a free Friend Ticket. Crew and consignors can bring their spouse or partner, parents, parents-in-law, and children.
How can my friends check in for early shop times?
Friends need to get a Ticket online and provide your name at the door for our Friends Sale.
Is it okay to bring a grandparent to an early sale?
Yes, grandparents and spouses/partners are always welcome under your ticket. Children age 3 and under must be in a stroller.
Crew
Shifts & scheduling
Is it required to sign up as Crew once you become a consignor?
No, but the Crew shops first and buys nearly 25% of our items!
Can I see available Crew Time Slots prior to registering?
You must go through registration to see slots, but you don't have to select one if nothing fits your schedule.
What does the [S] mean on the Crew registration slots?
It means "Super" status for difficult-to-fill or longer shifts. They count as 1.5 regular shifts.
Why did my [S] slot and my 5-hour regular slot not make me super duper?
It takes 15 hours. [S] counts as 7.5 hours, so 7.5 + 5 = 12.5, not 15.
Can I combine barter slots and traditional slots?
Absolutely! Register for both, then email us if you need help combining them.
Duties & logistics
Do I need cashier experience to join the Crew?
No. Anyone can help.
Where do Crew need to go to check in?
Go to the Crew check-in counter in the central checkout area to receive your apron and name tag.
What are the responsibilities of a door Crew slot?
You are a greeter and security support. You check passes/IDs, answer questions, and help maintain security by checking receipts as shoppers exit. You do not need to tackle anyone; just be friendly and enthusiastic!
