KE Tagging blunders to avoid

Golden Rule: We require all fields to be typed into our online tagging system. No handwritten descriptions or photocopied tags. The tagging template makes it a breeze to create duplicate tags and copy fields!

#1: Poor descriptions

A thorough description means your tag can't end up on another item. And, it helps us if you accidentally swapped tags when tagging or if your tag comes off. We just look it up in the tag database and reprint your tag. But if there are 10 items described almost exactly like yours, we can't do this.

#2: Not checking Items Accepted

Always check the Items Accepted chart! It shows exactly what is accepted for our specific sale season. Use ctrl f or cmd f to search it for your term. Ask on the FB Group if you can't find the item you are wondering about.

#3: Tagging the hanger

Clothes get tried on-tag the item, not the hanger and don't zip tie your clothing to the hanger.

#4: Loose parts

Securely tape Ziploc bags shut with packing tape! Add duplicate tag option tags to extra pieces that might get separated.

#5: Damaging fabric

Use tag guns only through seams to avoid holes. Zip ties are the gold standard for security and fabric safety. Use safety pins ONLY if you don't have tag gun and there's no place to zip tie.

#6: Wrong paper/no tape

We require 65-67 lb cardstock.

Tape the top corner of all tags with scotch or packing tape before hole punching; use two layers for shoes. Don't tape over the QR code.

#7: Overpricing

Be competitive. No more than half the current retail price! Check similar items online. High prices often mean taking the item home again!

#8: Fearing discounts

Don't fear the discount! Half of our items sell at full price; so price to sell at full price and use discounts to sell what you accidentally overpriced!

#9: Poor placement

Ensure tags are easily visible (tag on right if possible) and that you size up (e.g., 6-9mo goes on the 9mo rack). If item fits small type "6-9mo fits like 6mo" and size with 6mo.

#10: Ignoring Quality

Remember: There is a $1 fee per unacceptable item. Inspect your items under bright light before tagging to ensure they are stain and hole and pull/pilling-free.
