Building Issues & Updates

Updated as things change — see Updates at the bottom of this page.

First, the good news

Our shoppers come and they buy. You bring the items, we advertise everywhere, and they sell — fast.

Thank you. Truly. The quality and the prices you bring us are why shoppers keep coming back, and this sale is what it is because of what you put into it.

What to expect inside

Plan for warm in our warm months, and layers in our cool months. There are 25 a/c units in this space, they are old, and not all of them run at full capacity — we have spent $36,000 on them in the last three years and we keep them going as best we can.

Keeping the doors open all day during a sale is hard on the a/c units too — picture leaving your own front door wide open on a hot day and asking your home system to keep up.

When something changes, we will try to post it in Updates at the bottom of this page.

What we are doing

Our HVAC company comes out whenever a unit drops, and they are working on a longer-term solution.

We have added 23 industrial fans on top of the ones already in the space. Fans are not air conditioning. They are what we can do quickly and they move a lot of air.

We are working on getting a unit placed outside the building.

A rented unit is ruled out — it has to be ducted, and this building cannot be ducted for one.

Fall 2026: when the large back unit went out, our HVAC company came out seven days in a row. Each time they got it running, and each time it tripped back off, until the seventh visit brought one of its two compressors back on. And through all of it, Fall 2026 gave us several of the biggest full-price and discount days in our history. Our shoppers came anyway, and our consignors’ items sold.

Do you know anyone with a crane?

We want to try to replace units, and the hold-up is lift — they sit on the roof and cannot be replaced without a crane. A commercial crane day costs more than a sale like ours can spend, so we are asking the long way round.

If you or someone you know owns a crane and would be willing to donate or heavily discount a lift for us, please tell us through Contact Us. A name and a number is all we need.

And there is something in it for whoever does the lift: marathon status to the sale of your choice. That means 100% commission on your sales, and you shop very first.

What this means for EverythingELSE in October

The Fall EverythingELSE Sale runs in October, and the cooler weather should make a real difference inside the building.

Why it is still worth the trip

It is warm in here in warm months. But the deals are hotter!

Fall 2026: this has been the best quality, the best prices and the best selection our consignors have ever brought us, and it has been moving fast. Many shoppers have come back two and three days in a row. The deals are THAT GOOD!

Come get it while it is here.

Shoppers: make it a great day

Plan like you’re going to Disney, dress and prepare like you’ll be running a marathon. You’ll get your steps in!

  • Bring several cold water bottles
  • Wear a neck fan if you have one, or a cooling towel, or bring a cool cloth on ice in a baggie
  • Dress cool. Shorts and a light top are perfect
  • Bring snacks! Make it the most fun shopping day you can
  • Run out of water? Ask us up front.

How you can help

Cases of bottled water stacked on a cart inside the Kids EveryWEAR entrance

We buy cases of water for you and keep replenishing them, but with thousands of shoppers it is never enough — and the hard part is keeping that much of it cold. That is where you can help!

  • Bring a few extra cold waters and add them to our coolers
  • Bring a ziploc bag of ice to top off the coolers. Our freezer space is very limited and we can’t keep up
  • Freeze a few water bottles the night before. They stay cold for hours and help chill the coolers too
  • Working Crew two days in a row? Take a case of our water home, chill it overnight and bring it back cold
  • See a cooler running low? Help us restock it
  • See a cooler full of melted ice? Help us dump out the water

The best way to reach us

When something is not right, we want to hear about it, and we want to hear it from you. Please message Gail directly through Contact Us with your question and, if you have one, an idea to fix it. Kind, clear messages help us fix things fastest.

She does not watch the Facebook groups, including ours, so a post there can sit for days before anyone tells her. We do have a moderator who works hard to keep up with the group, and when something is raised we try to follow it up individually by direct message if we think that is warranted. During a sale our small team is juggling what feels like 10,000 requests a day, from open to close, and we would so much rather fix a problem today than find out about it later.

Some of you have done exactly that, and more. One brought water to share. One offered to meet the HVAC technician at the building for us. One bought neck fans. One lent us a water cooler. One asked their real estate agent to help look for our next space. One brought cases of frozen water bottles. Thank you. That is what makes this community special.

Consignors: your white tag items

September 2026 sale only: if you have white tag items you would rather not donate if they do not sell, you are welcome to pull them during the 75% off days. All pulling must be done by close on Sunday, September 27 at 7pm.

About the building’s future

This building is scheduled to be torn down, which is part of why we had hoped the units would hold out. If we cannot get this resolved we will be looking for a new space before next September. There is not a comparable building that we know of, but we are looking.

Help us find the next one

We would love your help. Here is what a space has to have:

  • 80,000+ square feet
  • 500+ parking spaces
  • Zoned retail

If you know of a building that might fit, send it to us through Contact Us. Anything you can find out helps: the address, who to talk to, leasing information. If you are able to call the location yourself and ask whether it meets the three requirements above, that is even more helpful.

And there is something big in it for you. If you call a location, send us all of the information, and that location works out, we will give you marathon status to the sale of your choice. That means 100% commission on your sales, and you shop very first.

Updates

  • September 21, 2026. The compressor that came back on the 17th is still running. It is warm inside, not cool.
  • September 17, 2026. Seventh visit in seven days. One of the two compressors on the big back unit is running again and it seems to be holding, though we cannot promise it will keep running. 13 more industrial fans are going in.
  • September 16, 2026. The HVAC company has been out five times and is still working on a solution. We bought 400 bottles of water for shoppers, and extra fans go in Thursday.
  • September 15, 2026. 13 more industrial fans go in Thursday, September 17. The HVAC company is still working on the largest unit.
  • September 2026. A unit at the front of the store went out during BoutiqueBASH. The largest unit, at the back, went out during KE, with something wrong in its wiring. The night it went out our HVAC guy climbed onto the roof in pouring rain and got it running.
  • September 2026. We are sorry we did not update you sooner. Every single day we truly expected them to get the large unit fixed, and we did not know how to handle this without a sure understanding of where it stood. That was not fair to you. We also did not see the comments in the Facebook group until someone told us after 50 comments already existed.
  • September 2026, after drop-offs. 10 industrial fans added.
